Nollywood Star Tonto Dikeh Sued for N200 Million Over School Deliverance Video

 

Nollywood actress, Tonto Dikeh, has been sued for conducting deliverance on a girl in school premises.

The popular actress was slammed with a N200 million lawsuit at the High Court in Abuja by human rights lawyer, Ikechukwu Obasi.

Obasi, who filed the suit on behalf of the Rivers State-born Junior Secondary School, JSS 1 student, emphasized that the teenage girl was subjected to what he tagged as a harmful religious ritual which the footage was later shared online.

He further noted that the circulation of the clip without the girl’s consent, violated her privacy rights “under Section 37 of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the Child Rights Act 2003.”

While demanding N200 million for damages, public apology, and removal of the footage from all social media platforms, Obasi also urged the court to declare the act a violation of the girl’s constitutional right to dignity and personal privacy. Insisting that
