Nine states, FCT report 65 new COVID-19 cases 

Nine states and the Federal Capital Territory reported 65 new cases of COVID-19 on Friday, according to figures released on Saturday by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control.

The agency did not report any additional COVID-19 related death.

The NCDC disclosed this on its official Facebook page on Saturday.

 Kaduna recorded the highest number of new infections with 20, followed by Gombe – 10, FCT – 9, Rivers – 9, Bauchi – 6, Lagos – 3, Delta, Edo, Kano and Oyo recorded two cases in each state.

The health agency said the 65 new COVID-19 infections have brought the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the country to 212,511.

However, 204,184 COVID-19 patients have recovered and have been discharged in the country, the agency said.

With no additional COVID-19 related death reported, the death toll from the virus remains 2,902, the NCDC said.

It added that a multi-sectoral National Emergency Operations Centre, activated at Level 2, had continued to coordinate the national response activities.
