Otokwu, Mmaku (Awgu LGA, Enugu State) — The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Mgbidi/Mmaku Ward, Awgu Local Government Area of Enugu State, has reaffirmed its strong support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah following the successful flag-off of the party’s digital membership e-registration exercise at St Udechukwu Primary school, Iffite Mmaku.
The event attracted party faithful, stakeholders, and residents who turned out in large numbers, reflecting growing grassroots mobilization and commitment to strengthening the party’s structure, internal democracy, and digital data management.
Speaking at the exercise, the Ward Leader and Commissioner for Human Development and Poverty Eradication, Prof. Benedette Ekwutosi Okoli, commended Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah’s administration for its ongoing Smart School and Smart Hospital projects across the state, describing them as transformational interventions capable of significantly improving human capital development and healthcare delivery.
Prof. Okoli described Governor Mbah as “not a regular governor,” noting that his mind-blowing projects, massive infrastructural development, extraordinary achievements, and visionary leadership have distinguished him as a rare leader who comes once in a while in Enugu State’s political history. She stressed that the people owe the governor total support and solidarity, especially in the ongoing APC digital membership e-registration exercise.
She assured the people of Mgbidi/Mmaku Ward of more developmental projects, particularly in road infrastructure, explaining that such interventions were captured in the state’s 2026 Budget, tagged “Budget of Renewed Momentum.” According to her, the APC remains firmly committed to empowering its members and consolidating its grassroots base.
The commissioner further expressed deep appreciation to the Executive Chairman of Awgu Local Government Area, Hon. Uchenna Joseph Okolo, for his outstanding leadership, consistent support, and tireless grassroots mobilization across Awgu.
In an exclusive interview with UGAMA TV, Prof. Okoli led by example by completing her digital registration at the venue and urged stakeholders, party members, and residents to fully embrace the exercise, stressing that the e-registration process is vital to building a stronger, more inclusive, and credible party structure.
Also speaking, the Executive Chairman of Awgu Local Government Area, Hon. Uchenna Joseph Okolo, disclosed that he had earlier inspected the ongoing Smart School and Type 2 Hospital projects within the area and commended Governor Mbah for his unwavering commitment to infrastructural and social development.
Hon. Okolo called on stakeholders and party faithful in Mgbidi/Mmaku Ward to continue supporting the governor in order to attract more dividends of democracy. He further assured that Awgu Local Government would play an active role in achieving the APC’s target of registering two million members statewide through sustained grassroots mobilization and community engagement.
A respected stakeholder, High Chief Raymond Onyimba, pledged total support for Governor Mbah and unwavering solidarity with the APC, encouraging party members to fully key into the ongoing digital registration exercise.
In his remarks, Gen. Nike Orjiude (rtd.) charged residents of Mgbidi and Mmaku to massively embrace the APC digital membership e-registration drive, describing party membership as the foundation of political strength and electoral victory. He clarified that party registration is distinct from obtaining a voter’s card, noting that it represents the first strategic step toward effective political organization and mobilization.
Gen. Orjiude urged newly registered members to return to their respective polling units across Mgbidi and Mmaku to sensitize residents and expand the party’s support base, cautioning party faithful against distractions and divisive tendencies.
“There are people whose mission is to distract us. We must remain focused, come out en masse, and rally behind the APC to secure victory for our party,” he stated.
