MASSOB Warns Tinubu: Igbo People Won’t Support You in 2027

Ahead of the 2027 presidential election, the Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra, MASSOB, has told President Bola Tinubu not to be deceived by the recent political promises being made by “self-proclaimed Igbo leaders”.

Some South-East politicians, including Governor Charles Soludo of Anambra State, and Works Minister, David Umahi have declared that the people of the zone would support Tinubu in 2027.

Soludo said his party, the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, has already adopted Tinubu for the next election.

Umahi also declared recently that Ndigbo are for Tinubu in 2027.

But in a statement on Sunday, signed by Comrade Uchenna Madu, leader of MASSOB, the group told the president that those individuals do not represent the true will of the Igbo people and that their influence will not translate into genuine voter support.

MASSOB noted the importance of understanding the sentiments and aspirations of the Igbo grassroots rather than relying on established political figures who will not resonate with the broader community.

According to the group, “There is an ongoing dialogue about representation and political strategy within the southeast region as the next general elections approach.

“MASSOB is reminding President Bola Tinubu that the Southeast region will not support his bid for a second term in the 2027 presidential election because your administration has neglected our region, leading to significant pain, agony, and feelings of marginalization among our people.

“MASSOB laments that the Southeast region deserves better representation and attention from the federal government, and we believe that the current administration has failed to address the needs and concerns of the Ndigbo.

“The ongoing discontent and political dynamics within the Southeast is overwhelming. Ndigbo is seeking greater recognition and support in national governance.”

The group went further to criticize what it called “blatant arrogance exhibited by Gov Soludo during his new master’s state visit to Anambra state.

“Your desperation to secure a second term in office as governor, particularly your assurance to President Bola Tinubu of Anambra’s electoral support is a betrayal of the interests and aspirations of the people of Anambra and the broader Biafra movement.

“Governor Charles Soludo has systematically erased every memory and image of Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu from APGA and Anambra state.

“Your political maneuvering undermines the quest for genuine representation and self-determination of Anambra state and Ndigbo in general.

“MASSOB reiterates that the decision of the Igbo people regarding our preferred presidential candidate in the 2027 presidential election will ultimately rest with the masses rather than individual leaders or political figures.

“While leaders like Governor Chukwuma Soludo may have their own perspectives and opinions, the collective voice and choice of the people are what truly matter in a democratic process.”

“The sentiments, needs, and aspirations of the Igbo masses will play a crucial role in shaping our voting decisions.

“Engaging with the electorate, understanding our concerns, and addressing our priorities will be key for any candidate looking to gain support from the Igbo people,” MASSOB further stated.
