Kidnappers of Zamfara provost demand N5 million ransom

Kidnappers of Alhaji Habibu Mainsara, Provost of Zamfara State College of Agriculture and Animal Science Bakura, have demanded a N5million ransom.

The Provost was kidnapped in the early hours of Sunday at his official residence in the Government Science Secondary School in Bakura Local Government Area of the state.

According to the elder brother of the provost, Nasiru Mainasara, the kidnappers have been contacting the family since the provost was abducted, saying that negotiations to reduce the ransom are ongoing.

Mainasara explained that some prominent members of the community have told the family to suspend every negotiation with the kidnappers, promising them of their support to rescue the kidnapped victim.

When asked, the State Police Public Relation Officer, SP Mohammed Shehu said he has no idea of any ongoing negotiation between the family and the abductors.

SP Shehu noted that the command has deployed a search and rescue mission team to fish out the notorious kidnappers so that the abductors could be brought to justice, assuring that the kidnapped victim would regain his freedom.
