Jubilation in Umuhu Ezike: High Chief Frank Obasi’s Generosity Lights Up the Community

In a heartwarming display of unity and gratitude, the serene village of Umuhu Ezike erupted in jubilation yesterday morning 15th June 2025, as High Chief Frank Obasi, the CEO of Villa Toscana Hotel and founder of the Villa Toscana Foundation, made an unexpected visit to the construction site of the Umuhu Ezike Civic Centre. With a generous donation of 3 million naira, Chief Obasi brought not only financial support but also a profound sense of hope and community spirit to the elders, women, and youth of the Ugwulesi Autonomous community.

As the sun rose over the Orie Umuhu Square, the air was thick with anticipation. The Civic Centre, now at the roofing stage with plastering in progress, stands as a symbol of progress and resilience for the community. Chief Obasi, a man renowned for his philanthropic endeavors, was welcomed by a jubilant crowd, their faces beaming with joy and appreciation.

High Chief Obasi has been a tireless advocate for community development, leading efforts to mobilize support for the Civic Centre project. His unwavering commitment has inspired many, and he stands as the highest donor, encouraging others to join in this noble cause. Addressing the crowd, he expressed heartfelt gratitude for their unwavering support and love. “Together, we can achieve greatness,” he said, his voice resonating with passion. “Let us focus on what unites us and work towards the completion of this Centre, a place that will serve as a beacon of hope for our community.”

In a powerful moment, Chief Obasi announced his donation of 3 million naira: 1 million for the elderly men, 1 million for the women, and 1 million for the youth. The crowd erupted in applause, tears of joy streaming down the faces of many as they felt the weight of his generosity.

Chief Okechukwu Cornelius Ogba, the Ezike IV of Umuhu Ezike Kingdom, stood alongside Chief Obasi, expressing profound gratitude on behalf of the elders. “You are a godsend to our community, Chief Obasi,” he said, his voice filled with emotion. “Your contributions have transformed lives. May God continue to guide you as you do this noble work.”

The women, led by Mrs. Akachukwu, the Awgu local government’s PDP women leader, also expressed their heartfelt thanks after receiving their share of the donation. “You have always been there for us, Chief Obasi,” she said, her voice trembling with emotion. “From building houses for those without shelter to providing food and clothing for the needy, your kindness knows no bounds.” As she spoke, women in the crowd sang and danced, tears of joy mingling with laughter, celebrating the blessings brought to their lives.

Ambassador Onyemechi Nwiwe, affectionately known as “Oji ulo emeogo,” represented the youth in expressing their gratitude. “Chief Obasi, you are a man with a heart of gold,” he declared. “Your dedication to our community, from road projects to countless job opportunities, is a testament to your love for your people.” His words resonated deeply, igniting a renewed sense of purpose among the youth.

High Chief Frank Obasi’s contributions extend far beyond this day’s generosity. Through the Villa Toscana Foundation, he has sponsored scholarships for over 50 students pursuing professional courses in medicine, nursing, pharmacy, and engineering. The foundation has also paid WAEC fees for more than 100 secondary school students across Awgu and beyond, ensuring that education remains accessible to those in need. Moreover, Chief Obasi has provided humanitarian assistance, paying hospital bills for discharged patients unable to afford their costs and supporting widows with food and medical care. His commitment to youth empowerment through vocational training programs has opened doors for many, enabling them to build sustainable futures.
