Social media personality Amodu Elizabeth Aminata, popularly known as Jarvis, has publicly appealed for forgiveness from the Oba of Benin, Oba Ewuare II, following the controversy involving her partner, Habeeb Hamzat Adelaja, widely known as Peller.
The apology comes after backlash over an unauthorised visit to the Benin Royal Palace, an act the Benin Traditional Council described as a breach of palace customs and traditions.
Speaking during a live session on social media, Jarvis expressed remorse over the incident and pleaded for leniency on behalf of her partner. She also shared concerns about how the situation could impact her personal life, especially her hopes of getting married, urging the palace to show mercy.
The controversy began on March 6, 2026, when Peller allegedly gained access to the palace without proper approval.
In response, the Benin Traditional Council summoned him to appear before palace authorities and directed him to submit a formal written apology.
The council also sanctioned some palace officials over the incident, suspending a chief and disciplining other members of the royal household for their roles in granting the unauthorised access.
Palace authorities reiterated their commitment to preserving tradition and maintaining order within the revered institution.
