When history is written about the rebirth of Enugu State, one date will remain engraved in gold—June 1st, 2023. On that day, Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah demonstrated rare courage and unshakable faith in the destiny of Ndi Enugu by confronting a menace many believed was beyond redemption: the dreaded and illegal sit-at-home.
His pronouncement was not just a political statement; it was an act of liberation. It was a bold defiance against fear, a spiritual affirmation that darkness cannot triumph over light. While critics questioned his audacity and timing, today the evidence is undeniable—Enugu has reclaimed her Mondays, her dignity, and her freedom.
No longer do faceless gunmen dictate the rhythm of life in our land. No longer are our people prisoners in their own homes, bound by fear of threats that once crippled businesses, schools, and families. Whoever stays home today does so out of personal choice, not intimidation.
This singular moment of leadership was more than a policy shift; it was a spiritual awakening for Ndi Enugu. It rekindled hope that leadership, when guided by courage, vision, and resilience, can restore lost pride and propel a people into a new dawn.
That same resolve is now evident in the roads being constructed, schools being transformed, and projects being commissioned across the state. What once seemed like an impossible dream is daily unfolding before our eyes.
Governor Mbah’s story is one of faith turned into action, vision translated into reality, and courage refined into results. He is not just building infrastructure; he is building a new spirit in Enugu—one that believes tomorrow is no longer a distant promise, but a living reality today.
Enugu has risen, and the light will not go dim again.
