Ghanaian rapper who escaped from prison twice in one week taunts UK police again with ‘catch me if you can’ video

A drill rapper who escaped custody twice within a week has posted another provocative video online while still on the run. Daniel Boakye, who performs under the name DSAVV, shared a clip to Instagram appearing to mock authorities, including the line “Catch me if you can.”

The 21-year-old fugitive, who is due to be deported to Ghana, absconded earlier this month while receiving medical treatment. In the newly shared freestyle video, he is seen wearing a hoodie and lip-syncing to lyrics boasting about his notoriety and referencing his repeated escapes.

Boakye was previously jailed after being convicted over a series of knifepoint robberies in London. He was sentenced in July 2023 to six years and five months in prison for offences committed alongside accomplices. The group targeted victims across the capital, stealing phones and forcing access to cryptocurrency accounts.

He initially fled custody on February 10 while at West Middlesex University Hospital. After being rearrested the following day in south-east London, he escaped again on February 15 from Lewisham Hospital while under police guard.

The Metropolitan Police confirmed he absconded while in custody receiving treatment. Officers reportedly gave chase but were unable to detain him before he left the building.

Boakye, of Enfield, north London, is described as black, of medium height and slim build. At the time of his second escape, he was said to be wearing grey tracksuit bottoms and a dark Nike jacket.

Following his rearrest earlier in the week, several individuals were detained on suspicion of assisting an offender, though they were later released on bail pending further enquiries. Authorities have said his deportation remains under active consideration. The search for Boakye is ongoing.
