Fulham reject Atletico Madrid’s $21.5 million offer for Alex Iwobi

Fulham have rejected Atletico Madrid’s offer for Super Eagles midfielder Alex Iwobi.

According to several reports in England, Atletico Madrid submitted a $21.5 million bid for Iwobi this week and offered him a four-year contract worth €7 million per year.

The 29-year-old was reportedly interested in the move to Spain, but Fulham are unwilling to let him go. Atletico Madrid see Iwobi as a replacement for Belgium international Yannick Carrasco.

Iwobi was one of Fulham’s standout players last season, scoring 10 goals and providing six assists in 38 league appearances. He also made history as the first Nigerian to play all 38 Premier League games in two different seasons.

He finished second in Fulham’s Player of the Season vote, behind his international teammate Calvin Bassey.
