Enugu International Trade Fair Returns March 21 as ECCIMA Unveils 37th Edition

The Enugu Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (ECCIMA) has announced that the 37th Enugu International Trade Fair will take place from March 21 to March 30, 2026.

The announcement was made by the outgoing President of ECCIMA, Mr. Odeiga Jideonwo, during the Chamber’s 52nd Annual General Meeting (AGM) held at its secretariat in Enugu.

Jideonwo said the 2026 Trade Fair will be hosted under the theme “Empowering MSMEs for Global Competitiveness,” with robust strategies and a well-defined roadmap already in place to ensure a successful event. He disclosed that marketing activities commenced in 2025 and have continued to attract strong interest from both local and international organisations.

He described the forthcoming fair as a landmark event and called on government agencies, institutions, private sector players and international partners to participate actively.

“We have developed comprehensive strategies and a clear roadmap for the successful hosting of the Fair, and implementation is already ongoing. We are encouraged by the growing interest from both local and international organisations,” he said.

In his address, Jideonwo commended the Enugu State Government for its visible commitment to urban renewal and infrastructure development across the state. He particularly praised the administration’s interventions in the education sector, including the construction of 260 Smart Schools, as well as investments in road and transport infrastructure and renewed focus on tourism development.

The ECCIMA president also lauded the state government for improving the business climate in Enugu, noting that the state ranked third nationwide in the 2025 Presidential Ease of Doing Business Ranking.

“This achievement reflects the administration’s commitment to reforms, efficiency and service delivery. We are proud of these sustained efforts to position Enugu State as a competitive and business-friendly destination,” he added.

Declaring the AGM open, Governor Peter Mbah, represented by the Commissioner for Commerce, Investment and Industry, Mr. Sam Ogbu-Nwobodo, urged ECCIMA and the business community to continue supporting the state government’s development agenda.

He assured stakeholders that the government remains open to engagement and committed to making necessary adjustments to foster economic growth and a conducive business environment in the state.
