Enugu Electricity Distribution Company announces power outage on December 4

The Enugu Electricity Distribution Company has announced that there would be a power outage on Alaoji-Owerri 132KV line 1, scheduled to hold on December 4, 2021.

In a statement signed by Head, Corporate Communications, Emeka Ezeh, the outage will affect supply to Egbu Transmission Station and all the 33KV feeders, namely Mbaise, Okigwe, Alex, Airport, Owerri, Orlu, New Oguta, and Oguta, feeding Owerri and New Owerri Districts.

The statement reads, “The Enugu Electricity Distribution Company PLC, wishes to inform her esteemed customers in Imo State of a planned outage on Alaoji-Owerri 132KV line 1, scheduled to hold on Saturday 4th December 2021 from 9 am to 11 am. This is to enable the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) technical crew to attend to a line fault on one of the towers.

“As an additional apparatus for the safety of the engineers, Alaoji-Owerri 132KV line 2 will also be interrupted during this exercise. The outage will affect supply to Egbu Transmission Station and all the 33KV feeders, namely Mbaise, Okigwe, Alex, Airport, Owerri, Orlu, New Oguta, and Oguta, feeding Owerri and New Owerri Districts.

The statement further mentioned that customers in Imo State, except parts of Orlu and Mbaise that receive supply from Anambra and Umuahia respectively, will be out of electricity supply during the period of the maintenance.

“We regret the inconveniences this will cause our esteemed customers and assure them that supply will be restored as soon as the TCN team completes the maintenance. EEDC remains committed to delivering improved services to its customers,” the statement read.
