A former Deputy President of the Senate, Sen. Ike Ekweremadu has yet again garnered another award of excellence for his quality representation from a group of youths under the aegis of Udi/Ezeagu Progressive Alliance.

The group having revisited the opportunities that they enjoyed under the leadership of the Lawmaker, they decided to award him as a token of appreciation and encouragement.
The lawmaker who took to his Facebook page to disclose this new addition to his chain of awards, encouraged the intuition and resourcefulness of this group towards building a more thriving economic platform for his district.
The post thus reads;
“I was honoured with an award for quality representation, along with Rt. Hon. Dennis Oguerinwa Amadi, by the Udi/Ezeagu Progressive Alliance at the weekend.”

“Udi/Ezeagu Progressive Alliance is the coming together of the youthful people of that part of our constituency to explore the abundant opportunities for economic development and self-reliance in Udi/Ezeagu and beyond. As Ozo Ferdinand Aniekwe, PhD, pointed out in the inaugural lecture he delivered, a comparison of the prices of palm oil and crude oil in the international market clearly shows that we are dissipating a lot of energy on crude oil.“
“He was right. Whereas countries like Indonesia, Malaysia, etc. are reaping bountifully from a product where we used to hold the ace, Nigeria, according to the December 2019 World Bank price index for crude palm oil at $769.93, lost N90.1 billion in 2019 to the importation of a commodity we could produce. And it is also projected that we may lose a whooping N270.2 billion to crude importation from 2020 to 2022.“
“Therefore, I commend the DG, Ozo Onyebuchi Ani and the Udi/Ezeagu Progressive Alliance for this great initiative and efforts to look inwards, to catalyse the resourcefulness of our people and economic potentials of Ndi Udi and Ezeagu. They have my blessing and support.”
