EKWEREMADU INSPECTS PROJECTS AHEAD OF 2021 BUDGET

The Former Deputy president of the Senate, sen. Ike Ekweremadu
has toured the sites of the developmental projects in Ezeagu south, a part of Enugu West Senatorial District, which he represents in the Senate.

According to the senator, The tour was targeted at ascertaining the rate and quality of work being done in all the sites, with a possiblity of inculcating them in the next budget.

The water projects done under the water-for-all initiative was the first to be visited, some of which were sited at the Obunofia ndiuno community of Ezeagu local government area in Enugu state.

During his speech, Engr. Ivoke, appreciated Sen. Ekweremadu for ensuring that his constituents access basic amenities. He said that the Construction of the boreholes were done without hitches as the indigenes were cooperative, however, lack of adequate power supply was hampering the usage of the borehole. A generator can suffice for the needed power supply.

In his response, Ekweremadu assured them the provision of a generator to enable the adequate  functioning of the water sources

After which he visted a road construction project at Umueze-Agu in Obunofia, the road project is slated for 1.5km in total, it was observed that 400m of earthwork, and side drain has been done while 500m of the road has been cleared ready to be Asphalted with the release of funds.

The tour ended for the day at a road construction project at Egede Ogwofia, Imezi-Owa. About 1km of the project has already been asphalted with complimenting side drain, to enable the road last long, since the communities are Erosion prone.

Ekweremadu was in the company the Deputy Minority leader, House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Toby Okechukwu, Member representing Ezeagu and Udi Federal Constituency, Hon. Dennis Amadi Oguerinwa, Member representing Aninri constituency in the house of Assembly, Hon. Okwu Chinedu Utaka, PDP state secretary, Hon. Cletus Akalusi, Enugu-west Zonal chairman, Ozo okey Ozoani, Amongst others.

However, in an interview with UGAMATV correspondents, the Senator stated that it is only proper to attract a project and monitor the phases of the project, as such the aim of development will be met.

He further stated that he was taking note of the remnants of the individual projects, so as to include them in the next allocation of funds to ensure that all the developmental projects attracted were satisfactorily completed.

He also enjoined the members of House of Assembly in his entourage, as well as the aspiring politicians to emulate the act of supervising the projects within their jurisdiction, this he says, will curb fraudulent and deceptive acts on the part of project frontliners.

Furthermore, he adviced Members of the Enugu state house of Assembly present, as well as aspiring politicians to be resilient and strongwilled in their pursuit of development in their individual jurisdiction.

Speaking on the effect of the COVID-19 on the project implementation, he said that the pandemic halted the whole world, and the project implementers were not left behind. most of the foreign workers, had returned to their home countries, but with the lift of the ban on international flights, work will resume Ernestly.
