The Federal High Court in Abuja has fixed Friday, September 26, 2025 to deliver its ruling on the no-case submission filed by the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, in the terrorism case brought against him by the Nigerian government.
The ruling, earlier slated for October 10, was brought forward, according to Kanu’s lawyer, Aloy Ejimakor, who disclosed the development on his X (formerly Twitter) handle on Monday.
“The scheduled ruling on Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’s no-case submission has been abridged from 10th October 2025 to Friday, 26th September 2025,” Ejimakor stated.
A formal court notification noted that any party seeking a postponement must promptly apply to the court and, if relying on any matter of fact, provide supporting evidence.
Kanu has remained in Department of State Services (DSS) custody since his arrest in Kenya and subsequent repatriation to Nigeria.
Just last week, he filed an appeal before a vacation judge requesting a transfer out of DSS custody over health concerns. However, the judge returned the case file to the Chief Judge, citing the timeline limitations of the vacation court.
