The Bureau of Public Service Reforms (BPSR) will convene a stakeholders’ dialogue aimed at making public institutions more citizen-centric to enhance service delivery across Nigeria.
The Director-General of BPSR, Dasuki Ibrahim Arabi, said the initiative reflects the Bureau’s commitment to promoting excellence in public service and advancing reforms that improve the efficiency, effectiveness, and responsiveness of government institutions.
According to him, the Bureau will commemorate the United Nations Public Service Day by hosting the Nigeria Public Service Lecture Series and Awards 2026 on June 23 in Abuja.
The event, themed “Transforming Public Institutions: Advancing Innovation, Participation and Inclusion,” will bring together senior government officials, policymakers, development partners, civil society organisations, and other governance stakeholders to discuss strategies for strengthening public institutions and deepening public service reforms in Nigeria.
Arabi explained that the lecture series is designed to foster constructive dialogue on the future of public service, encourage the exchange of ideas and best practices, and identify practical solutions for building innovative, inclusive, accountable, and citizen-centred institutions capable of meeting the aspirations of Nigerians.
He disclosed that the Governor of Gombe State, Inuwa Yahaya, will chair the event, while the Chairman of the Federal Civil Service Commission, Tunji Olaopa, will deliver the lead lecture.
The programme will also feature an awards dinner where outstanding public institutions and individuals will be honoured for excellence in public service reforms, innovation, service delivery, and impactful governance.
