Awgu Ward I & II Rally for Tinubu, Mbah as Stakeholders Flag Off APC Digital Membership E-Registration

Awgu Town, Enugu State — January 17, 2026 — Awgu Ward One and Ward Two came alive with political enthusiasm on Friday as stakeholders and party faithful rallied in strong support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Enugu State Governor, Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, during the official flag-off of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Digital Membership E-Registration Exercise in Awgu Town.

The twin events, which attracted large crowds of party members, stakeholders, and residents, reflected growing grassroots mobilization and a renewed commitment to strengthening the party’s structure, internal democracy, and digital data management ahead of the 2027 general elections.

While Ward One converged at Central School, Awgu, Ward Two assembled at Community Primary School, Awgu, with registration officials efficiently attending to participants as residents trooped out in large numbers to enlist and update their membership records.

Speaking during the exercise, the Chief Executive Officer of Villa Toscana Hotels and a key stakeholder in Ward Two, High Chief Frank Obasi, commended Governor Mbah for what he described as exceptional leadership and unprecedented infrastructural development across Enugu State, noting that the administration’s achievements are unmatched in the state’s history.

High Chief Obasi reassured Governor Mbah of the total support and solidarity of Awgu people ahead of the 2027 general elections, pledging that the wards would deliver massive votes for President Tinubu, Governor Mbah, and the APC.

He explained that his political family recently joined the APC after leaving the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), describing the decision as a strategic move for progress.

“When a vehicle breaks down on the road, you enter another vehicle to reach your destination,” he stated, emphasizing the need for practical and forward-looking political alignment.

Chief Obasi further pledged full support for the ongoing APC digital membership e-registration exercise, expressing confidence that Awgu would emerge strongly in the registration drive. He urged stakeholders, party members, and the general public to treat the exercise with utmost seriousness and priority.

He also expressed appreciation to the Executive Chairman of Awgu Local Government Area, Hon. Uchenna Joseph Okolo, for his inclusive leadership style and consistent grassroots engagement, assuring him of continued support and cooperation.

Also speaking, the Executive Chairman of Awgu Local Government Area, Hon. Uchenna Joseph Okolo, commended Governor Mbah for his unwavering commitment to infrastructural and social development across Enugu State, describing the governor as “God-sent” to Ndi Enugu.

Hon. Okolo called on stakeholders and party faithful in Awgu Ward One and Ward Two to sustain their solidarity and support for the governor in order to attract more dividends of democracy to the area. He expressed gratitude to the stakeholders and party members in Awgu Town for their loyalty and commitment to the administration and assured that Awgu Local Government would play an active role in achieving the APC’s statewide target of registering two million members through sustained grassroots mobilization and community engagement.

Leading by example, stakeholders at the event completed their digital registration and encouraged party members and residents to fully embrace the process, stressing that the exercise is critical to building a stronger, more inclusive, and credible party structure.

A major highlight of the event was the generous donation of ₦1,000,000 by High Chief Frank Obasi to support transportation for party members, a gesture that drew widespread commendation and boosted morale among participants.

Dignitaries present at the event included Sen. Ben Collins; Chief Amobi Edeh (Agu Bata); Hon. Nnanna Nze; Dr. Ego Ajah; Kingsley Amudi (Ozo Malaga); Secretary-General of Awgu, Rt. Hon. Nelson Uduji; APC Awgu Caretaker Chairman , Hon. Kenechukwu Okolo,former PDP Chairman Awgu, Hon. Okey Udeh; former Awgu Council Chairman, Joe Ani; APC Awgu Women Leader, Mrs. Akachukwu; and Awgu Local Government Supervisors, Hon. Kingsley Ogbona and Hon. Nwali, among several other party leaders and supporters.

The APC Digital Membership E-Registration Exercise is expected to continue across other wards in the local government area as the party intensifies grassroots consolidation ahead of the 2027 general elections.
