Awgu, Nigeria – June 1, 2025 – As the month of June unfolds, the Executive Chairman of Awgu Local Government Council, Hon. Uche Okolo, has extended heartfelt greetings to the residents of Awgu LGA, emphasizing hope, resilience, and community progress in his latest message.

In his address, Hon. Okolo reflected on the collective journey of the community, acknowledging the challenges faced and the strength displayed by the people of Awgu. He reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to work diligently across various sectors to reduce poverty, improve living conditions, and foster sustainable development within the local government area.

Hon. Okolo took the opportunity to commend the leadership of Governor Peter Mbah, highlighting his vision and dedication as pivotal in establishing Awgu as a model of good governance and accountability. Under the governor’s guidance, the local government has made significant strides in various initiatives aimed at enhancing the quality of life for its residents.

Among the notable achievements, the Executive Chairman pointed to the successful implementation of the Awgu Smart Farming and Farm Estate project, which aims to empower local farmers and bolster agricultural productivity. Additionally, the “Water for All” initiative has seen the installation of over 14 solar boreholes, providing clean and accessible water to communities across the LGA.

In a bid to enhance security, street light projects have been initiated in several neighborhoods, fostering a safer environment for residents. Hon. Okolo also emphasized the importance of education, announcing significant investments in infrastructure, including improved access roads to the Awgu Smart Green Schools, which are designed to create a conducive learning environment for children.

Furthermore, the Executive Chairman expressed a strong commitment to creating employment opportunities for the youth, with several initiatives currently in progress and more planned for the future. He underscored the collective responsibility of the community in building a prosperous future where every citizen can contribute to and benefit from development.
