Awgu Council Chairman Applauds Gov. Mbah’s Transformational Vision as Iconic Presidential Hotel Springs Back to Life After Two Decades

Enugu, Nigeria, In what has been described as a historic milestone for Enugu State, the Executive Chairman of Awgu Local Government Area, Hon. Uchenna Joseph Okolo, has commended the Governor of Enugu State, Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, for his visionary leadership and unwavering commitment to infrastructural revival, economic expansion, and social transformation.

Speaking to Ugamatv during the grand unveiling and commissioning of the long-abandoned Iconic Presidential Hotel in Enugu,  a project that had been neglected for nearly two decades, Hon. Okolo hailed Governor Mbah as a “workaholic leader” whose bold steps and strategic reforms are steadily placing Enugu State on the global map.

“Today, politicians, business leaders, women, and youths are filled with happiness because this is indeed a monumental achievement for Enugu State and its people,” Hon. Okolo declared with heartfelt joy. “This landmark hotel, once forgotten, has now become a shining symbol of restoration, growth, and renewed hope under Governor Mbah’s administration.”

Hon. Okolo highlighted Governor Mbah’s transformational governance approach, which he described as “everyday commissioning of life-changing projects.” He recalled the recent launch of modern transport hubs across the state and expressed excitement over the forthcoming commissioning of 260 state-of-the-art smart schools, one in every ward, designed to empower the next generation through world-class education.

The Awgu LGA Chairman also offered prayers for Governor Mbah’s good health, divine wisdom, and long life, extending his warm goodwill to the Governor’s executive team, fellow local government chairmen, and all stakeholders working in harmony to actualize the administration’s vision. He reaffirmed the collective mission to elevate Enugu State’s economy from its current $3.4 billion GDP to a projected $30 billion GDP, emphasizing that such bold aspirations are now within reach through Governor Mbah’s innovative policies and strategic reforms.

With the revival of the Presidential Hotel, Governor Mbah has not only restored a historic landmark but also reignited the spirit of possibility in Enugu State, demonstrating that abandoned dreams can indeed become enduring legacies.

“This is more than just a hotel reopening,” Hon. Okolo concluded. “It is a prophetic sign that Enugu State is rising, and with Governor Mbah’s leadership, we are marching confidently toward a future of prosperity, dignity, and global relevance.”
