APC Chairman Slams Otti’s Appointees: Claiming They Don’t Know Their Own Villages

The newly elected Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abia State, Chijioke Chukwu, has claimed that several commissioners and other appointees serving in the administration of Governor Alex Otti are not familiar with their villages or the state at large.

Chukwu, who was speaking at Ibere, Ikwuano LGA of the state on Friday when Sam Onuigbo declared for the Senate race, also claimed that the commissioners cannot identify the number of their polling units.

According to the Abia APC chairman, the majority of those working with the governor had been residing in Lagos and other cities far from Abia State for many years before being brought home, causing them to lose track of their hometowns.

He further alleged that most of the people who worked to deliver the governor to victory in 2023 were not compensated with appointments, despite their efforts.

“When he became governor, he abandoned the people who worked for him, went to Lagos, and brought in people who don’t even know the number of their polling units,” Chukwu said.

Responding swiftly to the APC chairman’s claims, the Senior Special Assistant to Governor Otti on Special Communication, Dodoh Okafor, described the claims as lies and deceit.

“Chijioke Chukwu is not more politically conscious or strategic than any member of Governor Alex Otti’s team,” Okafor said.

Meanwhile, the former House of Representatives member in Abia State, Sam Onuigbo, has declared his intention to represent the Abia Central senatorial district in the Senate.

Onuigbo, who currently represents the South-East on the board of the North East Development Commission (NEDC), cautioned his constituents against selling their votes to moneybags.
