Actress Shan George reveals how telling the truth to a very wealthy Nigerian man made her lose an investment opportunity

Actress Shan George has narrated how telling the truth set her back and made her lose an investment opportunity.

She explained that after producing a movie 10 years ago, she met and invited one of Nigeria’s richest men and when he asked how much the movie cost to make, she told him N6m. She said this revelation made him wave her off and he continued brushing her off afterwards.

She said the rich man recently revealed that he “doesn’t take any little person serious when it comes to business” and this made her understand why he refused to invest in her movie.

She added that the truth cost her an investment but she will not resort to lying.

The actress-producer wrote: “Many years ago, as a struggling movie producer, I met one of Nigeria’s richest men by accident, I went to invite a father to my movie premier and he was there, so I also extended an invitation to him.

“In d few minutes we met, he asked how much I spent producing d movie, and I told him 6million naira ( this was over 10yrs ago, 6m was still big money) and asked if he can invest in our next movie, he just smiled and waved me off.

“After a few times I tried to reach out to him for d investment in our next movie, he was unreachable, so I movd on.

“Recently I read where same man said that he doesn’t take any little person serious when it comes to business. So I now understand why he waved me off then, cos I was a struggling producer.

“This is how d truth keeps setting us back everytime, shey I for lie then ni? but I sure won’t join d lying gang, neither will I fake it to make it. Oga sir, I now make movies wit 100M dollars o, just one Bitcoin, will u now invest? Or we still too small? Ndi uwa.”Local businesses directory
