Action Icon Chuck Norris Passes Away After Hospitalization in Hawaii

Legendary Hollywood actor and martial artist Carlos Ray Norris, widely known as “Chuck” Norris, has passed away at the age of 86.

Norris reportedly died on Friday, March 19, 2026. In a statement, his family disclosed that he passed away in the early hours after being hospitalized the previous day in Kauai, Hawaii. They noted that the circumstances surrounding his death would remain private, adding that he was surrounded by loved ones and “was at peace until the breathed his last.”

Born in Ryan, Oklahoma, United States, Norris rose to global fame as a martial arts champion before transitioning into a successful acting career. He became a household name for his lead role in the popular television series Walker, Texas Ranger.

Before his rise in entertainment, Norris served in the United States Air Force and built a remarkable record in martial arts competitions. He later established his own fighting system known as “Chun Kuk Do.”

At a time when many actors focused on either film or television, Norris stood out by achieving success across both platforms. As he advanced in age, however, he gradually reduced his appearances on screen.

He also reached a younger generation of fans through cameo roles in films such as Dodgeball (2004), featuring Vince Vaughn and Ben Stiller, and The Expendables 2 (2012).

Throughout his lifetime, Norris earned black belts in multiple disciplines, including Karate, Taekwondo, Tang Soo Do, Brazilian jiu-jitsu, and judo.
