2023: Competence should determine who becomes President – Yahaya Bello

Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, has said competence should be the main focus of Nigerians, as they go to the polls to choose a successor for the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), in 2023.

He said this in remarks made on his behalf by his Chief of Staff, Mohammed Abdulkareem at a two-day national leadership summit on Peace and Security organised by the National Youth Council of Nigeria, in Nasarawa state, held in Lafia on Tuesday.

Yahaya urged political leaders in the country to create opportunities for the youths to assume leadership positions in 2023.

The Governor said, “The choice of who becomes the next President of Nigeria in 2023 must be on the basis of who the cap fits and not the region he or she hails from”.
