Hon Uchenna Joseph Okolo, a prominent businessman and estate developer, has been making significant strides in grassroots development in Awgu Local Government Area of Enugu State. Born into a family with a strong law enforcement background, Hon Okolo has always been dedicated to human empowerment and infrastructure development.
Appointed as the Deputy Chairman of the Awgu Local Government Area Transition Committee in December 2019, Hon Okolo later assumed the role of Transition Committee Chairman in January 2020. During his 30-day tenure, he accomplished several milestones in rural development, including the construction of a health center, roofing of a magistrate court, provision of security infrastructure, installation of solar lights, grading of roads, and clearing of salary arrears for council staff and officials.
His exceptional performance led to his appointment as a member of the Enugu State Housing Development Corporation in July 2020. Despite no longer being in public service, Hon Okolo continues to prioritize community and rural development, as demonstrated by his recent construction of a security house for a local vigilante group in Obodoakpu-Agbogugu Community.

Following his landslide victory in the PDP Awgu Local Government Area Chairmanship primaries election, where he received an unprecedented 100 percent of the votes cast by delegates, Hon Okolo has established himself as a formidable leader with unwavering community support.
