UPDATED: ENUGU LAWMAKER, OBIEZE, BURIES FATHER IN STYLE

Late Pa Benedict Maduabuchi Obieze-Onyibo, the father of RT. Hon. Chima Obieze, Chairman House Committee on works, housing and urban planning, was buried on Friday, 14th of August 2020.

The Funeral rites began on Wednesday night, 12th of August 2020, with a christian wake at his country home, Camp of grace Akama-Oghe, Ezeagu local government area.

It was an event graced by all and sundry with dignitaries from all spheres of life.

The actual Burial event started with a procession from the Eastern medical center, Enugu, and brief stop over in his country home, Okunito-Mgbago, in Akama-Oghe, Ezeagu.

A requiem mass was officiated by his lordship, Bishop C. V. C Onaga, the Bishop of the catholic diocese of Enugu at St. Mary’s Catholic parish, Akama-Oghe Eziagu.

Interment and the burial proper, however took place, immediately after the Requiem mass, at his country home, Okunito-Mgbago, in Akama-Oghe.

Subsequently, Friends and well wishers of the bereaved family of Obieze, made their way to the reception venue, at the camp of grace Akama-Oghe, Ezeagu.

Gracing the event were Nollywood Veteran Actors, like Pete Edochie, Cynthia Okereke amongst others.

In her words of commiseration for the family of the deceased, Cynthia Okereke, Nollywood Veteran Actress, said that the loss of Pa Obieze-Onyibo was a great loss to the good people of Ezeagu, however, it is also a celebration of life, since the good sir, lived his life to the fullest living undeniable legacies, she also prayed that God gives the Obiezes’ the fortitude to bear the loss.

Rt. Hon. Chinedu Okwu Utaka, whom came to support his bossom friend and colleague, said that even though death always came with grief and sorrow, this particular one, should be celebrated since he knew that Pa Obieze-Onyibo rests in the bossom of the almighty. Again, the lawmaker who represents, Aninri constituency, gave his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, on behalf of his Constituency.

All the Venues of the events were studded with Medical personels, at strategic points, whom monitored and supervised the strict adherence to the COVID-19 safety Injunctions, which includes use of sanitizers, wearing of facemasks.

The event was graced by men of great prestige, dignitaries and guests from different parts of Nigeria.
