Tragic End: Missing 3-Year-Old Found Dead in Well in Kano Village

A three-year-old boy who went missing in Wangara Village, Tofa Local Government Area of Kano State, has been found dead inside a well, the Kano state Fire Service has confirmed.

The statement was signed by Saminu Yusif Abdullahi, the Public Relations Officer of the Kano State Fire Service on Saturday night.

The incident was reported on Friday morning after the Kano Fire Service received a distress call around 7:50 a.m. from a resident, Dan Asabe Rabiu, alerting authorities to the disappearance of the child.

According to the Fire Service, the boy, identified as Abdura’uf Badamasi, had been missing since Thursday evening, with his parents suspecting that he may have fallen into an open well near their home.

Confirming the incident, the Fire Service said a rescue team was immediately deployed from its headquarters to the village.

“On arrival at the scene, our team was informed that a three-year-old boy had been missing since Thursday evening and was suspected to have fallen into a well,” the statement said.

Rescue personnel entered the well and brought the child out, but he was found unconscious.

“Our men promptly entered the well and rescued the child,” the statement added. “However, he was later confirmed dead.”

The body of the deceased was later handed over to the Ward Head of Wangara Village in line with standard procedures.

The Kano State Fire Service expressed sympathy to the bereaved family and advised residents to take safety measures around open wells and other dangerous areas to prevent similar incidents, especially involving children.
