*Tomorrow Is Here Movement Berths in Awgu: Chairman Uchenna Okolo Leads Renewed Political Awakening for Grassroots Development*

The Executive Chairman of Awgu Local Government Area, Hon. Uchenna Joseph Okolo, on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, welcomed political stakeholders, dignitaries, and community leaders to the official inauguration of the “Tomorrow Is Here” Movement — a socio-political support group championing the vision and governance philosophy of His Excellency, Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah.

The event, held at the Awgu Local Government Headquarters, was marked by excitement, unity, and a renewed sense of civic responsibility. It began with the national anthem, an opening prayer, then the breaking of the kola nut by His Royal Majesty, Igwe Okosisi Nwobi, Ugwundu II of Ugwuleshi Autonomous Community, setting a cultural and symbolic tone for the day’s proceedings.

Chairman Okolo’s Welcome Address: “Awgu Will Remain a Strong Voice for Governor Mbah’s Vision”

In his warm welcome address, Hon. Uchenna Joseph Okolo expressed deep appreciation to the leadership of the Tomorrow Is Here Movement for bringing the initiative to Awgu. He reaffirmed his unwavering commitment, on behalf of the people of Awgu LGA, to continue sensitizing residents about Governor Mbah’s developmental strides and ensuring that the Governor’s policies and projects are felt at the grassroots level.
“Governor Mbah has brought a new era of visionary leadership — from education to infrastructure — and Awgu will remain a strong voice and partner in driving this transformative agenda,” Okolo declared.
National President’s Opening Remarks: “Governor Mbah’s Impact Speaks Loudly Across Enugu State”

Delivering his opening remarks, the National President of the Movement, Hon. Tony Okonkwo, commended the people of Awgu for their consistent support for Governor Mbah’s administration. He conveyed the Governor’s message of appreciation to the people and highlighted his remarkable achievements within two years in office — including:

• The construction of 260 Green Smart Schools across the state,
• 260 Type-2 Hospitals under simultaneous development,
• Massive state-wide road construction projects,
• The revamping of Hotel Presidential,
• And the completion of an international conference center that stands as a testament to Enugu’s growing investment climate.

Deputy Speaker Ezenta Ezeani Appoints LGA Coordinator, Hon. Ezenta Charles

The highlight of the day was the formal appointment of Hon. Ezenta Charles as the Coordinator of Tomorrow Is Here Movement, Awgu Chapter, by the Deputy Speaker of Enugu State House of Assembly and Vice President-General of the Movement, Rt. Hon. Ezenta Ezeani.
Charging the newly appointed coordinator, the Deputy Speaker urged him to be a true ambassador of the movement, taking the message of Tomorrow Is Here across wards and polling units within the local government.

He also conducted an interactive question-and-answer session with attendees to assess knowledge of the Governor’s top priorities. During the engagement, he emphasized Governor Mbah’s commitment to education, praising the allocation of 33% of the state’s total budget to the sector.

Political and Community Leaders Commend Movement’s Grassroots Drive

The event drew prominent figures from across Enugu’s political and business circles. Among them were:

• Hon. Dr. Anthony Nwankwo, Chairman, House Committee on Budget and Finance, Enugu State House of Assembly, Representing Awgu South Constituency.
• Hon. Dr. Ben Nwoye, Enugu APC Chairman (represented by Hon. Dr. Chiedozie Nwafor),
• Hon. Chief Anayo Onwuegbu, Member representing Awgu/Aninri/Orji River Federal Constituency, who supported the movement with a ₦500,000 donation (represented by Hon. Chukwujekwu Nebo),
• High Chief Osita Nwobi, CEO of Fontana Group of Companies, who also donated ₦1,000,000 in support of the movement’s cause.
All the speakers applauded the group’s evangelical political effort and reaffirmed their faith in Governor Mbah’s people-oriented governance.
Commitment to Service and Sustainability

In an exclusive interview with UGAMA TV, Hon. Uche Okolo described the movement’s inauguration in Awgu as “a welcome development that aligns perfectly with Governor Mbah’s participatory leadership model.” He pledged to replicate the Governor’s vision of efficiency, inclusiveness, and transparency in local governance.

Similarly, Hon. Ezenta Charles, the newly inaugurated coordinator, pledged total dedication to spreading Governor Mbah’s developmental vision throughout Awgu, ensuring that every community feels the tangible benefits of the administration’s initiatives

The Secretary of Awgu Local Government Council, Hon. Nelson Uduji, expressed profound gratitude to the movement for extending its activities to Awgu. On behalf of the local government, he announced a ₦2,000,000 support fund for the group and local attendees, commending the organizers for their selfless service.
