President Bola Tinubu has assured Nigerians that he will not betray the confidence reposed in him, insisting that the economic reforms introduced by his administration, though difficult, are necessary to build a stronger and more prosperous nation.
The President made the remarks on Thursday in a message delivered by Senate President Godswill Akpabio during the inauguration of the executives of the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement, a nationwide grassroots campaign established to promote the administration’s Renewed Hope agenda.
Tinubu said the support of Nigerians reflects their commitment to the country’s future and urged members of the movement to engage citizens directly by explaining the benefits of government policies and encouraging active participation in democracy.
He acknowledged the hardship caused by ongoing reforms but stressed that they were designed to correct long-standing economic challenges and lay a solid foundation for future generations.
According to him, lasting national progress requires courage, sacrifice, and collective effort from both leaders and citizens.
The President also called for unity, saying political differences should never divide Nigerians, as the nation’s interest must always come first.
He commended Chief Government Ekpemupolo (Tompolo) and members of the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement for launching the initiative, describing it as a patriotic effort to deepen grassroots participation and strengthen public support for his administration.
Representing Tompolo, Tantita Security Services Managing Director, Kestin Pondi, described the inauguration as the beginning of a nationwide mobilisation campaign aimed at promoting the Renewed Hope agenda. He expressed confidence that despite current challenges, the administration’s policies would ultimately deliver positive results for Nigerians.
