These initiatives have brought hope to families and strengthened our healthcare system: Awgu Local Government First Lady Applauds Visit of Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, to Enugu State

The First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Her Excellency Senator Oluremi Tinubu, was warmly welcomed by the First Lady of Enugu State, Mrs. Nkechinyere Mbah. The visit highlighted the ongoing commitment of both leaders to the welfare of women and children in Nigeria, sparking enthusiasm and gratitude among local leaders.

Mrs. Chioma Vivian Okolo, the First Lady of Awgu Local Government Area, expressed her admiration for Senator Tinubu and Mrs. Mbah, commending them for their unwavering dedication to improving the lives of women and children across the nation. “Your Excellencies, your unconditional love and support for the welfare of women and children is truly inspiring,” Mrs. Okolo stated.

Highlighting the impactful contributions of Senator Tinubu, Mrs. Okolo praised her recent distribution of 10,000 kits to midwives and palliative support for the less privileged. “These initiatives have not only empowered healthcare providers but have also brought relief to countless families in need,” she noted.

Mrs. Okolo also took the opportunity to acknowledge the numerous initiatives led by Mrs. Nkechinyere Mbah in Enugu State. She specifically mentioned the medical outreach programs that have significantly benefited the people of Awgu Local Government, as well as the various employment programs aimed at uplifting youth and women in the State . “We are grateful for your tireless efforts in healthcare and employment initiatives that have transformed lives in our community,” she added.

In her remarks, Mrs. Okolo thanked both First Ladies for their collaborative efforts in distributing professional kits to healthcare workers and launching the “Free to Shine” triple elimination campaign against HIV/AIDS, Syphilis, and Hepatitis. She also celebrated the commissioning of a new Technical, Vocational Education and Training (TVET) College at GTC, a testament to the progressive vision of the Enugu State government.

“On behalf of all the women of Awgu Local Government Area, we extend our heartfelt welcome to you, Senator Tinubu. Thank you for your visit and for your unwavering commitment to our welfare. We pray for your safe journey back,” Mrs. Okolo concluded.

The visit of Senator Tinubu to Enugu State not only reinforces the vital role of leadership in addressing the challenges faced by women and children but also inspires hope for a brighter future through collaborative efforts and community support.
