Philip Otele expressed his excitement after making his debut for the Super Eagles in Nigeria’s 2-2 draw against Al-Nashama on Tuesday night, coming on as a substitute for Frank Onyeka in the 89th minute.
The Hamburg star, alongside Emmanuel Fernandez and Yira Collins Sor, all made their first appearances for the Super Eagles during the four-nation invitational tournament.
Otele described the debut as a proud moment for him and his family:
“For me, it was a dream come true. We always play football to represent the national team, so I always wanted to play for Nigeria, and it was a big moment for me and my family,” he told Super Eagles media.
He joined Hamburg on loan from Swiss side FC Basel in January.
