Media personality Nedu Wazobia has stirred reactions after claiming that Abuja is the headquarters of Nigeria’s “Sugar Mummy industry.”
Nedu made the remark during a conversation with content creator Ludahydrate, describing the so-called Sugar Mummy industry as one of the biggest in the country.
“The Sugar Mummy industry is one of the biggest industries in Nigeria. The headquarters, as far as I am concerned, is here in Abuja,” he said.
Backing Nedu’s claim, Ludahydrate argued that the trend is linked to the presence of wealthy Northern politicians and political appointees in the Federal Capital Territory.
According to him, some politicians with multiple wives often provide substantial settlements to ex-wives after divorce, including estates, supermarkets and other businesses.
He suggested that some of these financially independent women, who may already have children and no desire to remarry, could prefer relationships with younger men instead.
The comments have since sparked discussions across social media, with many Nigerians sharing mixed reactions to the pair’s claims.
