Sport for Development: Iconic Nsukka Female Football Championship Hosted by Mayor Asogwa Ends Today. Nkpunano vs Opi Play Final

It has been a moment of fun and excitement for the people of Nsukka for weeks now as the iconic and fun-filled Nsukka Female Football Championship which was hosted by the chairman of Nsukka local government, Engr. Jude Chinedu Asogwa, KSJI, draws to an end. The ward female category football competition which had ladies’ teams from the various wards of the local government council fight for the cup and also to represent their various wards in the selection process for the Nsukka Female Football FC, an official ladies team for the local government council.

 

Engr. Jude Asogwa, who initiated the idea for this ladies team, is of the vision for the utilization of football for the development of not only the local government area but also human capital development through the identification of talented football players, both in the male and female category, and exportation of these talent to the global stage.

 

The final game for this female League Championship will be held at Nsukka Township Stadium between Opi ward vs Nkpunano ward for the first place title. Both teams have proven themselves in the tournament through winning outstanding matches and securing a high number of goals.
