Soldiers of the Nigerian Army monitoring the ongoing governorship and House of Assembly elections in Enugu State have arrested a woman for vote-buying.
The incident happened at Obodo-Obibi Mgbuji in Eha-Amufu, Isi-Uzo local government area.
Meanwhile, soldiers also reportedly arrested the chairman of the local government area, Obiora Obeagu, with 32 political thugs earlier in the day.
Although he was said to have been released, the suspected thugs were still held at Ikem police station where they were taken to.
Also, the immediate past chairman of the Isi-Uzo council area, Jacob Abonyi, who allegedly led political thugs to attack and destroy election materials in Mbu Ward has also reportedly been arrested with over 20 armed thugs.

The governorship candidate of the Labour Party who voted at his Mgbuji Eha-Amufu Ward 3, polling unit 006, confirmed those incidences.
According to him, “over 30 armed political thugs have been arrested by personnel of the Nigerian Army in various locations in his council area, Isi-Uzo local government area.”
Edeoga, however, commended the military and the Department of State Services for responding to all the distresses.
