Nollywood actress Shan George has stated that Nigeria’s president should possess strong academic qualifications and military training.
The actress made the remark in a Facebook post on Wednesday, with less than a year to the country’s next general election.
George also commented on the leadership of Bola Tinubu, describing him as a skilled political strategist but suggesting that his governance has not matched expectations.
According to her, Tinubu had promised significant achievements during his campaign, but many Nigerians are still waiting to see those results nearly three years into his administration.
In the post, the actress said that although the president has long been influential in Nigerian politics and was involved in protests against previous governments, his strategy appeared to have focused mainly on achieving his “Emilokan” ambition.
She argued that leadership at the national level requires deeper expertise and global exposure, adding that international politics demands intelligence, strategic thinking and well-trained minds rather than what she described as “shallow politics.”
George further stressed that for someone to effectively lead a country like Nigeria, a combination of quality education and military training would be important qualities for the office of president.
