Royal blessing: Traditional Rulers Back Uchenna Okolo for Awgu LGA Chairmanship

The traditional rulers in Awgu have thrown their support behind Hon. Uchenna Okolo, the PDP Chairmanship candidate for the Awgu Local Government Area. The endorsement came during a gathering at the Palace of the Chairman of the Awgu Traditional Rulers Council, Igwe Cyprian Mmaduabuchi Nevobasi.

During the event, Hon. Okolo, along with his deputy Dr. Stanley Uchenna Ezediuto and campaign organization led by Director General Hon. Okey Udeh and member Enugu state house of assembly, Hon. Tony Nwankwo, received the traditional rulers’ blessing in the form of the “ofo,” a sacred symbol of truth and authority. This symbolizes the royal fathers’ endorsement and acceptance of Hon. Okolo’s candidature.

In a surprising turn of events, Igwe Nevobasi not only prayed for Hon. Okolo but also supported his campaign with materials and a cash gift on behalf of his family and kingdom. The traditional ruler assured the PDP Chairmanship candidate of their unwavering support throughout his campaign and eventual victory.

Hon. Okolo expressed gratitude for the support and recognition, promising not to disappoint the people of Awgu LGA if elected Chairman. He also vowed to prioritize the welfare of the traditional rulers council in Awgu.

Igwe Nevobasi, in an interview with UGAMATV, emphasized the importance of Hon. Okolo fulfilling his campaign promises to the people of Awgu LGA. He urged the candidate to remember the saying that “to whom much is given, much is expected” and to ensure he lives up to the expectations of the community.
