Rapper Rod Wave reportedly arrested same day he received his first Grammy nomination

American rapper Rod Wave found himself in police custody on the same day he discovered he had earned his first Grammy nomination.

According to TMZ, the rapper, whose real name is Rodarius Green, was arrested in Atlanta and booked on charges including possession of a controlled substance, reckless driving, and possession of a weapon during the commission of a crime.

Police said they responded to a call over a possible domestic disturbance, which later led to the discovery of an unreported burglary and a discharged firearm. Rod Wave is said to have turned himself in and was released shortly after on bond. The case is still under investigation.

This is not his first encounter with the law this year. Back in May, he was arrested in Fulton County on charges that his legal team denied. He has also previously faced accusations of firearm possession, which his lawyers have also refuted, stating he is not a convicted felon.

Meanwhile, despite the legal issues, Rod Wave received his first Grammy nomination for “Sinners,” a song featured in the soundtrack of the horror-action film of the same name. The song is nominated in the Best Song Written for Visual Media category.
