Presidential Election Tribunal Begins Formal Hearing Of Petitions Filed Against Tinubu

he Presidential Election Petition Court proceedings on Tuesday commenced the actual hearing of petitions by opposition political parties and candidates challenging the outcome of the February 25, 2023 presidential election.

The hearing started with the announced winner of the election, President Bola Tinubu, through his counsel, Wole Olanipekun, who referenced the Supreme Court’s decision of Friday, 26th May that dismissed PDP’s case on double nomination.

Olanipekun is reportedly seeking to know if the decision of the Supreme Court doesn’t strike out the case of the Allied People’s Movement (APM) which is also challenging the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC)/Tinubu’s victory on grounds of using a placeholder, Kabir Masari, for Kashim Shettima.
