The Yobe State Police Command has arrested one Nasiru Junaidu,30, for s3xually abusing a 9-year-old girl in Damaturu.

 

 

The spokesperson of the command, SP Dungus Abdulkarim, disclosed this in a statement on Saturday, November 8, 2025.

 

 

According to the PPRO, the suspect lured the victim into a shop several times and def!led her.

 

“On 3 November 2025, operatives of the ‘A’ Division Police Headquarters, Damaturu, apprehended one Nasiru Junaidu, 30, of Nayi Nawa, for a case involving alleged def!lement and child abuse of a minor (female, aged 9),” the statement read.

 

“Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect lured the victim into a shop severally within the Timber Shade area of Damaturu.

 

“The victim was rescued and taken for medical examination, while the suspect is in custody.

 

“Investigation is ongoing and will be transferred to the Gender unit at State CID for further action and prosecution.”
