Osimhen: I’m a High-Value Player, Worth More Than €100m Due to My Unique Qualities

Victor Osimhen says he is worth more than a €100m valuation, adding that there are a few like him in football, ugamatv reports.

The Napoli striker who recently joined Galatasaray on a season-long loan continues to hug the headlines with his achievements on the pitch and was one of the most sought-after strikers in Europe during the last summer window, being linked with top European clubs, including Manchester United, Paris Saint-Germain, Juventus, and Liverpool.

Chelsea and PSG were close to signing the Super Eagles striker in the last hours of the window, but the deal fell through over his hefty €130m release clause, as a loan move to Turkey became the last resort.

On Monday, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano told Caught Offside that the Blues were plotting a £40m January swoop for the 25-year-old.

Despite clarification from the Italians that no negotiations are currently ongoing despite reports of behind-the-scenes preparations at Stamford Bridge, some fans saw the suggested £40m price tag as ridiculous for the current Africa Player of the Year.

It is against this backdrop that the player made the claim while commenting on his valuation after the problems in the last transfer market due to the termination clause inserted by Napoli, insisting he was worth more than €100m.

“I am worth more than €100m. There are few players like me in the world who have achieved the same results and success as me,” Osimhen said, per Tutto Sport.

He added, “Everything is linked to my characteristics, the things I do on the pitch, and my quality. I think I deserve a high valuation. I am aware of the contribution I can give to a team. Do people think differently? Some say €15m, others say 100-120-150. Everyone has different opinions.”

Osimhen has hit the ground running in Turkey, netting twice in a thrilling 3-3 draw against Kasımpaşa last weekend. He has now scored two goals and provided four assists in four games.

Osimhen joined Napoli from Lille in the 2020 summer for a club record fee of €70m plus another €10m in bonuses.

He was in top form for the Parthenopeans for two seasons, guiding them to their first Scudetto title in over three decades in the 2022/23 season, scoring 26 league goals, which earned him the Serie A top scorer’s award.
