One dead, former deputy governor injured in Katsina APC delegates’ crash

A group of delegates from Sabuwa local government area in Katsina State were involved in a road accident while traveling to attend the APC North-West Zonal Congress.

 

The crash led to the death of one delegate, identified as Dalhat Machika. Several others were injured, including former Deputy Governor of the state, Sirajo Umar Damari, and the APC Chairman of Sabuwa Local Government.

 

In a statement, the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Dikko Umaru Radda, Ibrahim Kaula, said the injured victims are currently receiving treatment at Yusuf Dantsoho Memorial Hospital in Tudun Wada, Kaduna.

 

Governor Radda later visited the hospital after the congress to see the victims. According to the statement, he “sympathised with the victims and their families and prayed for their quick recovery.”

 

The governor also assured them of government support during this difficult period.

 

He was accompanied during the visit by the Special Adviser to the President on Political Matters, Ibrahim Kabir Masari, the Chief of Staff, Abdulkadir Mamman Nasir, and other senior officials.
