A Nigerian woman, Buithat Hudu, has stirred reactions on social media after sharing her views on what she believes should be a wife’s primary responsibilities in marriage.

The biotechnologist stated that a wife’s role is to bear and raise children, take care of her appearance for her husband, and manage her husband’s wealth. According to her, expecting a wife to do anything beyond these responsibilities amounts to slavery.

“A wife’s responsibility is to bear and raise children, adorn herself for her husband and manage his wealth. Anything outside this is slavery,” she wrote in a Facebook post shared on Saturday.
