Nigerian musician Terry G has claimed that it was the devil that gave him a breakthrough in his music career.
He made the statement while addressing viral rumours of his death. Debunking the false report, Terry G also responded to controversy surrounding his recent comment, “I sing for the devil. I’m falling short of the glory of God,” which he made on a podcast.
In a now-deleted video on Instagram, the singer spoke in pidgin as he reacted:
“Social media, ma pami now. My phone has been buzzing since morning. People have been calling to check on me that they saw something online about my R.I.P saying Terry G don die. I beg ooo, whoever is trending that news should stop. I’m doing very fine, please stop that. I beg you in the name of God.”
He continued:
“And also, let me clarify this. There’s another one trending about me serving the devil. Una no know before? Una no know say na the devil I dey serve? Yes, na devil I dey serve. Na devil make me blow (popular).”
