NDDC MUST ACCOUNT FOR N6.25BN PALLIATIVE FUND COMMITTEE CHAIR

The Chairman of the Niger Delta Development Commission COVID-19 Palliatives Distribution Committee, Sobomabo Jackrich, has said the Interim Management Committee of the NDDC must account for the N6.25bn palliative fund.

He noted that the money approved by the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.) for the benefit of the indigent people of the Niger Delta had allegedly been stolen, denying the citizens the opportunity to benefit  from the fund.

Jackrich, in a statement  on Sunday, advised the IMC to wait for the National Assembly to probe the alleged embezzlement following the petition he (Jackrich) wrote to the President of the Senate, Ahmed Lawan; the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila and other principal members of the National Assembly.

In the statement titled, ‘N6.25bn palliatives embezzlement allegations: NDDC still shooting itself in the foot,’ Jackrich said the IMC was employing gimmicks including referring to him as erstwhile chairman of the COVID-19 palliatives committee when his committee was “validly appointed to oversee COVID-19  distribution of the funds, a chance the IMC denied me.
