Liverpool produced a dominant display to defeat Galatasaray 4-0 in the second leg of their Champions League last-16 tie at Anfield, securing a 4-1 aggregate win and a quarter-final clash with Paris Saint-Germain.
Dominik Szoboszlai, Hugo Ekitike, Ryan Gravenberch, and Mohamed Salah all scored for the Reds, overturning Galatasaray’s 1-0 advantage from last week’s first leg in Istanbul with a commanding performance.
Szoboszlai opened the scoring midway through the first half. Although Salah had a penalty saved before halftime, Ekitike and Gravenberch struck within two minutes after the restart to extend Liverpool’s lead.
Salah eventually added his trademark curler for his 50th Champions League goal just after the hour mark, following a disallowed own goal by Wilfried Singo due to offside against Jeremie Frimpong. The Egyptian then hit the crossbar before being substituted due to injury, the only blemish on an otherwise excellent evening for manager Arne Slot and his team, who now look ahead to a last-eight showdown with PSG.
