Jim Nwobodo Celebrates 85th Birthday with Dignitaries and Well-Wishers in Enugu

 

Amechi Awkunanaw, Enugu – Former Governor of old Anambra State, Senator Jim Nwobodo, celebrated his 85th birthday this past weekend in a grand event attended by prominent figures from across the political and religious spectrum. The celebration, held at his country home, was a testament to Nwobodo’s enduring legacy and contributions to the region.

Among the distinguished guests were the Deputy Governor of Enugu State, Barr. Ifeanyi Ossai; the current Governor of Enugu State, Dr. Peter Mbah; former Governor of Enugu State, Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi; and the Chairman of Enugu South Local Government Area, Hon. Caleb Ani. Also in attendance was Dr. Patricia Nwobodo, the wife of the celebrant, alongside Bishop Emmanuel Chukwuma, the former Archbishop of the Enugu Ecclesiastical Province of the Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion.

The event featured heartfelt tributes and accolades, reflecting on Nwobodo’s significant impact on the political landscape of Nigeria, particularly in the southeastern region. Guests shared stories of his leadership, vision, and commitment to the development of the area, underscoring the respect and admiration he has garnered over the decades.

Senator Nwobodo, who served as the governor of old Anambra State from 1979 to 1983, expressed his gratitude to all who came to celebrate this milestone with him. He highlighted the importance of unity and collaboration in driving progress within the community.
