Innovation Takes Centre Stage as Enugu Campus Hackathon Grand Finale Holds Friday

Bright student innovators, tech leaders converge in Enugu for defining moment of ideas, impact, and opportunity

All is set for the Grand Finale of the Enugu Campus Hackathon, as the state prepares to host some of its brightest young innovators, technology leaders, policymakers, and ecosystem partners at the International Conference Centre (ICC), Enugu.

The highly anticipated finale, scheduled for Friday, February 20, 2026, marks the climax of months of intense collaboration, ideation, and problem-solving by student-led teams drawn from tertiary institutions across the state.

At the grand finale, finalist teams will pitch cutting-edge solutions designed to tackle real-world challenges, showcasing creativity, technical skill, and the growing strength of Enugu’s innovation ecosystem. Organisers say the event underscores a clear message: the next generation of tech talent is not in the future—it is already here.

The event, which begins at 10:00 a.m. (WAT), is expected to attract stakeholders from government, the private sector, academia, and the startup community, offering participants a rare opportunity to connect ideas with funding, mentorship, and policy support.

Speaking on the vision behind the hackathon, the Executive Governor of Enugu State, Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to innovation-driven development.

“Our goal is simple: to build an Enugu where ideas thrive, talent is empowered, and innovation drives shared prosperity,” the governor stated.

The Enugu Campus Hackathon has emerged as a major platform for nurturing student innovators, strengthening startup culture, and positioning Enugu State as a rising hub for technology and innovation in Nigeria.

Members of the public, industry stakeholders, and innovation enthusiasts are encouraged to register and attend the event as Enugu celebrates ingenuity, ambition, and a future being built by its young minds.
