Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, has issued a stern warning to Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, cautioning him against interfering in Bayelsa State politics.
In a weekend statement from Port Harcourt, Eze alleged that Wike was plotting to destabilize Bayelsa’s political landscape, drawing parallels with recent political unrest in Rivers State. He warned that Wike’s alleged attempt to replicate such scenarios in Bayelsa would fail.
Eze praised Governor Douye Diri for resisting what he described as Wike’s efforts to introduce political violence and thuggery into the state.
“Bayelsa people do not play politics of betrayal, gangsterism or bitterness,” he stated.
He further warned Wike not to interpret the peaceful disposition of the Ijaw people as a sign of weakness, saying no one has a monopoly on violence or political manipulation.
Eze accused Wike of using divisive tactics to curry favor with President Bola Tinubu and stressed that Bayelsa must not be turned into a political battleground.
“Governor Diri cannot stand aloof and watch Wike perpetrate dastardly acts in Bayelsa,” Eze said, urging the FCT minister to abandon his alleged “infantile hallucinations” and respect the political integrity of the Ijaw people.
