Veteran Nollywood actor Richard Mofe-Damijo (RMD) has reflected on life at 65, saying he feels he is “living an extra time” after outliving both of his parents.

Speaking on a recent episode of The Moraya Show, the celebrated actor described his life as one filled with gratitude, noting that he is thankful to be alive and thriving.

“Being 65, I feel like I am living an extra time right now. My parents didn’t make it to 60. My life is one of gratitude,” he said.

RMD also expressed pride in being Nigerian, adding that he is encouraged by the growing number of people embracing self-employment and entrepreneurship.

Sharing the secret behind his youthful appearance and energy, the actor credited healthy eating, regular exercise and maintaining a youthful mindset.

“The only way for an old person to stay young is to never let the old person in,” he said, explaining that he refuses to allow age define his lifestyle or fashion choices.

RMD added that despite his eldest child, now 43, often teasing him about his dressing, he has no intention of changing his classy style anytime soon.
