Forsake pride, strive for God’s presence, cleric tells Christians

The general overseer, Covenant of Glory Int’l Church Inc, Apostle (Dr) Liberty Usiayo, has tasked Christians to forsake pride and strive for God’s presence in their lives and ministries in their Christian race to heaven.

Usiayo gave the task yesterday at the occasion of “G.O’s Appreciation Day” at Bomadi, headquarters of the church in Bomadi Local Government Area of Delta State.

Reading the Bible books of Exodus 13:20-21, Luke 6:19, John 2:1-11 and 1 Samuel 3:21, the cleric urged christians to indulge in the atmosphere of praise and worship unto the Lord Jesus, stressing the voice of God was mostly heard in such atmospheres.

He said: “when you have the presence of God, you have everything you want; the presence of God imparts the word of God, the presence of God makes life easy and you must do away with pride, you must strive for God’s presence if you want Him in your life”.

However, Pst. (Mrs) Endurance Usiayo, Elder Festus Obaro and Pst. Roseline Opukiri, disclosed that essence of the appreciation ceremony was to honour the servant of God with gifts to encourage him in his service to God and humanity.

“This gesture is to encourage him in his calling and we urge Christians to give such encouragements to men of God because they’re always there for us, physically and spiritually praying and interceding”, they said.
