Film Set Violence: Godwin Nnadiekwe Suffers Internal Bleeding After Unprovoked Kick by Colleague Zubby Michael

A Nollywood film set turned into a scene of chaos and bloodshed on Saturday, after actor Godwin Nnadiekwe suffered a severe injury, resulting in internal bleeding that required immediate hospitalization.

In a series of posts, according to the actor, the incident occurred when fellow actor Zubby Michael allegedly kicked him violently in the chest, causing the internal bleeding that led to his hospitalization.

He added that the kick was “neither scripted nor approved” by the management.

A disturbing video obtained by the actor reveals the shocking altercation, capturing Zubby Michael exiting a vehicle, vaulting over a barricade, and landing a vicious kick to Nnadiekwe’s chest before fleeing into a nearby building.

“To be clear, the kick was neither planned nor rehearsed, and was entirely unscripted.” Nnadiekwe wrote

The action was unauthorized and completely outside the director’s planned sequence. It happened without my consent,’ he added.”

Although he initially stopped short of naming his assailant, the video made it abundantly clear who was responsible.

The video clearly shows Michael as the aggressor in the unscripted assault.

Nnadiekwe revealed that the kick caused excruciating pain, requiring immediate and costly medical treatment that he was forced to pay for himself, as the film’s production team offered no assistance.

“During a scene, I received a kick to the chest from my colleague that wasn’t part of the script or directed by the director,” he said.

“It caused me serious pains. Had to get medication for my chest to feel better today. I did all these by myself. No assistance!”

The actor emphasized the need for strict safety measures on set, warning that physical scenes should always be meticulously planned and overseen by the director to prevent accidents.

“Without proper insurance and immediate medical care on set, unforeseen physical scenes can have devastating effects… What if the outcome had been worse?’ he questioned.”

Following Nnadiekwe’s emotional appeal, his management team confirmed that his condition had worsened, requiring immediate hospital admission for emergency care.

“We regret to inform you that Actor Godwin Nnadiekwe was rushed to the hospital this evening,” the statement read.

“He is undergoing treatment for internal bleeding caused by a chest injury sustained during a film shoot with Zubby Michael.”
